Here is snapshot of our products, ranging in size from 5kg or 10kg wheels. Cheese ages as followed, Mild being approx 4 weeks old to tasty which is 9months old. Vintage being 12+ months old. Aged cheese is not ready until the taste has developed how we like it. Old and vintage are by far the medal winners of all our cheeses, consistently winning Gold medals here in New Zealand and even Australia. Old Gouda has also gained the most prestigious cheese award given out in New Zealand Cheese of the decade! So it would go with out saying this is a great cheese. Full bodied in taste this cheese is great for all cooking from cheese sauces to that home made bolognaise.
This cheese is best for people whom like a soft mild taste. Amsterdam gouda is a very mild cheese with a creamy texture. Great for all occasions and versatile, as it works well on cheese boards, sandwiches or on your favourite dishes. Its high moisture content and creamy texture gives it great melting properties.
Cumin gouda being the classic Dutch gouda cheese, also very versatile used for anything from snacks cheese boards and highly recommended for those oriental dishes. This cheese is also aged for up to 1 year of age (old cumin Gouda), aging enhances flavours and decreases moisture content giving different taste and texture properties suitable for cooking or just to eat.
Also a very classic Dutch cheese, the blend of cumin and cloves gives it a unique taste. A well rounded cumin taste with the subtle flavour of cloves. A great addition to your cheese board.
This cheese is our newest addition to the Meyer Cheese range and quickly becoming a favourite. Fenugreek seed traditionally used in Indian cuisine now gives our cheese a rich sweet nutty flavour with that popular Asian taste.
This Gouda Cheese introduces a Unique blend of garlic and chives giving this gouda a strong garlic taste nicely rounded off with chives. This cheese becomes very special for uses in the kitchen from simple toasted sandwiches to a great tasting garlic cheese sauce.
This is our version of that Swiss style holey cheese. Soft in texture and mild in taste, subtle flavours come through making this a great cheese on its own or on bread. Well developed holes made by propionic bacteria gives flavour as well as that great visual appeal for that cheese board.
Pepper seed Gouda is a great mild cheese featuring the piquant taste of white and black peppers. Great in cooking or on bread but makes for the best pepper cheese sauce.
Plain Gouda being one of our most versatile is great for all ocations. ranging in age from a mild Gouda which is smooth & soft textured, perfect for snacks and cheese boards, Tatsy Gouda at 6-9 months old is smooth like the Mild gouda however the flavour is enhanced for those whom like a bit more bite.
Pre-packed gouda cheese was set up for NewZealand supermarket chains but now also can be found at you Deli store. These come in 6 flavours ranging from Mild gouda, Mild cumin, Pepper Gouda, Fenugreek Gouda, Garlic and Chives, and Tasty Gouda. Piece are of approximate weights of 180g which is ideal size for entertaining or to cook with.
